    got a promod with a powerglide (2800 lb.with driver)
540 cu in blown alcohol (bbc) (maybe 2400=2500 hp)
14/71 superman (40 lbs boost) davenport mods.
    4.56 tail gear
    180 first gear powerglide
what choice of trans.would be the better trans bruno or lencodrive for this app.and which first gear and second gear ratio would be better to begin with
    three speed?or
    two speed?
    just thinking
    thanks for your thoughts

1.70 or numerically lower first gear. 3 speed for 1/4 mile.
1.30-1.38 first with 5.00 rear for 2 speed 1/8th mile.
We run the same engine with a brt lenco 3 spd. Its very tough but heavier than the lencodrive.

    Snyder told me 137lbs for a 2 speed lencodrive...doesn't add up...i'm thinking they meant a 3 speed.

Plenty of gear but it will work. Just have to soften it up/kill timing on the hit. The latest strategy is throw gear ratio at it until you work the conv. harder. With that ratio and a wedge you will have to dump nearly half your timing to keep the shakes away. We ran 100lbs heavier than you but going from a 1.80 to 1.72 low with a 4.56 calmed it a lot.
Call me and i'll help if I can.
BTW we are looking for a 486 and have a 456 on hand.
