    I have a bbc with bds blower intake and a 14-71 blower.... I got a new set of fabricated aluminum valve covers for my brodix heads and they won't go on because of the port nozzles coming out of the bds intake... What can I do to get the valve covers to pass by the port nozzles???? Do they make a shorter nozzle for that purpose????:confused: I had fiberglass valve covers on it before but they seem to get cracks in them.......... THANKS

    What part hits the valve covers. Is it the nozzle body or the hose? they make hoses with 90* fittings on the end.

    I had the exact same problem, Dart 360 heads with Billet Fab valve covers and a Littlefield blower manifold. No room for the port nozzles. I mocked up what it would take to modify the valve covers and it was going to be a joke. I ended up selling the Littlefield intake and getting an Indy. It's alot better IMO. Better construction, longer intake runners, plenty of room for the port nozzles, it worked out great. Another one that works well (so I've heard) is the Miersch manifold, but I think it costs quite a bit more than the Indy.

    Yep to the above. If the BDS is like the Littlefield, fabbed rocker covers won't work (need to buy a set anyone?). I ended up using the Chinese cast aluminum ones on our motors, but you still have to cut/grind/machine reliefs in them to get past the nozzles and hoses. They still go on with a little difficulty. The cast is thick enough that there is enough to weld blowby/breather components to. But as stated, the Indy (if you can afford) or there are a couple of other manifolds that have been specially made out there that helps solve the problem. Just my limited experience. JW

    Our Indy manifold has the holes drilled/tapped at a angle to get them away from the valvecovers. The other thing I've seen is once the nozzle bodies are indexed is to bend them away.

    See http://www.goodvibesracing.com/nozzle_bodies.htm#Port Nozzle Jet Bodies
    If you have the E-7122A than the E-7121A will likely help just not sure if its enough, mine are all the 7122 and I fabricated our valvecovers tall and wide and they barely clear on Cragar, Mooneyham and of course the Indy and the manifold I built clears.

    You could order the manifold without the nozzles drilled,and drill them yourself at the angle you need, or call the vendor, and ask if they can drill them at an angle.

    I agree with Reehl, you can put plugs in the current holes and re-drill at a different angle. We do it all the time with multi-stage nitrous nozzles.

    i had same thing;;have a bds intake with fab covers;;i had mine modified and they work now;;took and set covers on head best could;;took marker and marked where they hit covers at;;went about 1/2" past where marks where made[where nozles hit]took cutoff and cut up side[did 2 nozzles at time]on each side and just high enough to clear nozzle and hose fitting.then cut across.bent that piece inward enough to clear everything then tig welded in the sides and top after bending in..had repolished and looks factory like as they was built that way;;i can pull cover off and get you detail pics of way it was done if you like..ricky rulz[nevada rattler AA/fuel altered]helped me..we talked on phone and i marked covers and he did the modifications;;

    Did the same as Don. Bds manifold and some cheap fab valve covers that I found. The covers have billet 1/4 in thick rails. I just marked where the port nozzles hit, and put enough of a radius in the outside of the valve cover rail to clear. I also had to put a small radius on the inside to clear the Jesel shaft drive system. I just lost a little bit of gasket mating surface, but I use the heavy, re-usable, fel-pro gaskets and havn't had any leaks. All is good so far. Chuck

    The valve covers were hitting the nozzles... I talked to enderle injection and they told me they make a shorter nozzle, because i have the longest ones.... I have the nozzles on order and they will be about 1'' shorter from the intake so hopefully they will work. If they don't work i can also get the 90 degree fitting for my lines and spud miller said he could fix me up with that.. Thanks for all the info, you guys are always very helpful!!!!!!!!!!!:D

    So did they recommend the E-7121A like I suggested above or is there a different "shorter" one that I don't know about?

    Yes SoDak they set me up with the 7121A nozzles because I do have the 7122A, so you were right on!!!!!!! Hopefully they will work...

    Intake Port Nozzles?????

    We had the same problem on our RODECKs using "tall deck" Littlefield manifolds, with hard lines. I purchased valve cover spacers (B&B/Steff) that raise the covers up and high enough to clear, even with the GM/Chevrolet bowtie covers, without any machine work.
