Atco Rescheduled ????

Hey what's going on with the Atco re-run? I heard today that they were considering not running this weekend as previously scheduled. Something about chance of wind/weather this weekend. They already said they were going to run this weekend, people have bought expensive plane tickets, and made plans now they are talking reschedule for two weeks out based on a weather forecast?????? Since when do we schedule races based on weather forecasts? You schedule the race, the people make thier plans and travel to the track, then we see what happens with the weather. There are people entered there that have a chance at a National Championship and need that race but cannot be there the same weekend as Vegas.

Since when did we start scheduling races based on forecasts? We set the date, and we all show up and see what happens. If you were basing your schedule on weather forecast, how much better forecast than this would you need to see to feel confident about having a race?? Almost smells fishy like the date is purposefully being manipulated to keep someone from racing?????

Atco Raceway Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series
Continuation of LODRS Event - October 16 & 17, 2010. Due to the weather forecast, we are going to run this event Saturday into Sunday. Friday looks like we will have no luck trying to run cars with the rain predictions.

Thursday - Parking begins at Noon for those returning to the Event. Gate will be open all night, 24 hours.

Saturday - 1 time run session for all classes. No clean up runs

Begin at 10 am with Stock, Super Street, Super Stock, Super Gas, Super Comp, Comp, TAD, TAFC.

Eliminations continue following time run and will continue into Sunday.

 

Moving an entire race to disrupt a single racer's championship hopes? Does that sound reasonable?
