My wife is starting to make launches in our hemi dragster and I need to get her a set of -15 gloves. I have Deist -20 and I don't like them very much. Whose gloves would you recommend we look at?

    Thanks,

    -Brian

    Gloves

Ringers gloves makes an all CarbonX -20 glove but they're hard to find. They must only sell them to certain shops because most places don't have them and can't get them. They are the lightest, most flexible, and comfortable -20 glove I've seen. And it's all CarbonX construction for superior fire protection.

I got mine at Design 500 in Seattle, they have all sizes in stock.

X2 for the Ringers gloves. I got mine from Dennis Taylor, Taylor Motorsports. Great people to deal with and very speedy service.

We tried the Ringers deal, but they are out of business and out of stock. Dennis Taylor is going to try to manufacture them again themselves. My Deist gloves have no elastic or cinch strap at the wrist to hold them in place on my hands, so it's like wearing an oven mitt to drive the car. Impact has a cinch strap, and Stroud has an elastic. We decided to give Stroud a try.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

It was Taylor that said they were going to try to manufacture the Carbon X gloves in the next few months, but couldn't help me with a -15 glove right now.

I bought a set from Stroud a couple years ago that fell apart. The inside material was like angel hair that would pull apart and get stuck in the fingers of the glove. Never again! I bought Ringers from Taylor and they are holding up good.

Let me make this VERY clear:

My first call was to Dennis Taylor.
Dennis Taylor said they could not help me with a -15 glove.
Dennis Taylor said Ringer's was out of business and he didn't have any gloves left. Dennis Taylor said I should call Simpson to get my gloves.

I looked at Impact (Simpson) and decided instead to go with Stroud.

To answer the question on how I got them from Stroud, my wife wears a small, and the lady on the phone went back to check stock and came back to the phone and said she had a pair of -15 smalls in her hand. Just lucky I guess :)

If the quality sucks I'll try somebody else next time. The wife will probably not make more than 15 passes in a year, so I'm sure they'll be OK.

Ringers Gloves, the Company, is not out of business, but it is true that they no longer manufacture the NitroX glove. I called Ringers today and that's what they said. Asked why and they didn't know. Bummer cause it's a really nice glove.

Dennis Taylor may be out of them, but Design 500 still has many pairs left, FYI.
