How is the tune up? What RPM are you running through the traps? If the engine is rich up top or lacks a good bit of timing it won't MPH well. Some people turn their engines pretty hard (RPM) going through the lights. If your not doing that or you are not comfortable doing that (can be hard on parts at times), then a reduction in gear ratio may be for you. You do have to remember that reducing the numerical ratio of the rear gear will also how the car leaves the starting line. Maybe others will chime in with specific experience.

Shoot, you should call Mike at Mike's Transmission. Doesn't he run almost the same combo in his own car at the moment?
4.30 does sound like a potential screamer. "making noise but not covering ground"

Why is that considered a screamer gear? If my math is correct 210 mph w/34" tire = 9000 rpm?

You have to take into account the stroke and the piston speed at that RPM. If the stroke was a bit shorter, it probably wouldn't be such a big deal.

4.10 rear with a 34.5 works real well, my hemi runs 235 plus with a 1.65 low gear powerglide at about 9000 rpm through the traps. Hope this helps.
