    Blower shop blowers

I am thinking of buying a bower shop 16-71 retro has anyone had any experience with them ? Are the rotors good like the k-11 or should I get a Littlefield ect? What do the Gods of speed think ? I have a hh 14 delta littlefield now and I have to run it at 60 over 7400 crank rpm 30 psi 555 ci bbc in a jet boat to run 8.00 in 4500 da just looking for a better option. Thanks Craig

I've had 3 blowers done by them, 1 cackle car and 2 street 6-71's. So far, 2 are ok, third is a spare.

Personally I consider SSI, PSI, DMPE and Littlefield as the top four with fifth a long ways back, this is just my opinion.

I had a littlefield 14 hh retro on my altered 42 over made 41 pounds of boost in the 1/4, seems like your is down on boost. Have a kobelco superman 14 now makes 49 pounds of boost in the 1/8 at 44 over.I think i would get your littlefirld restipped and go from there first . Just my 2 cents

A year ago its a delta not a retro. It made 38 psi at 52 od on a 468 7500 crank rpm built a 555 and it is eating the boost.Just thinking its time to step up to a newer blower mine is 20 years old Just don't want to update and regret it. I need a blower that will make more boost worn in than this one does.I can run the number now but need a lil extra for bad air and a 6 sec 1000 foot deal at the end of the year.I need to make up 1 tenth on the 1000 foot deal 6 seconds. I have a 14 hh delta now rotors are worn ect. gonna have about 7k to spend thanks Craig

I can run a screw but I don't have a raised cam block so the big wheel will hit the fuel pump drive. Dont want to belt drive the pump. Would like to run one but it would need to be polished so when the bag came off I could show it. This is show and go deal want to keep it lookin good we take it to the lake from time to time. thanks Craig

If bling is a factor , a Blower shop blower is an excellent choice!
The polish job on them is top notch!
From a performance standpoint... I think, that blower shop blowers are available with a kobelco rotor ;)

Go with the Blower Shop, you wont be dissapointed. Make sure you have all the other power enhancers like dividers ect... We've run the Blower Shop Billet 1471 HH for over five years and have won 2 Championships with the "Habitforming" TAF. We build 37 lbs at 32% at 8800. Remember.... it's quality, not quantity. Blower

If the class you run, lets you run any blower, and you are going to need extra H.P. and you want to take some load off your lower end ? There have been some kick a$$ deals on PSI 206D screw blowers lately on Inside Top Alcohol. I switched for a roots type blower to a screw and I have to say maintenance costs have gone way down and we have all the power we need and no broken parts!!!! we run a 500 inch BBC in a blown alky dragster, 6.0 to 6.30 in the 1/4. Just my 2 cents.

Craig, I don't know a lot about jets, but that sure seems like a lot of HP to run 8.0's. Is there anything left in the hull? Seems like the Jet guys out here need about 1100 HP on the motor and maybe hit it a few seconds with a 250 shot to run 8.0's. You gotta be making well north of 1600 HP, just seems like a lot. Kinda apples to oranges but in our flat we run NJBA's 7.70 class using about 6 lbs boost in a mild 565... And FWIW, were ran a Blower Shop 8-71 for a couple races in 08, man they build some nice parts. Best of luck whichever way you go...

Yea there's a lot left in the hull. My driver is a dear friend don't want to get him hurt its a heavy boat glued to the water and it has a hard time launching with all that power. The set up works good at the lake in the rough stuff. It works good though we run 8.01"s near 140. 6.11 @138 1000 ft. The hydro's and flats lift at the end we go around them or they break out. Don't work all the time you know how that goes. Thanks Craig

Heck, the couple of 8.0 jet guys around here are making tons of power. Way more than 1100. I'd guess it takes 1500 to 1600 for them.
A hydro would be much cheaper than a new blower. LOL

Yea you are TOTALLY CORRECT!!! I got a hard headed driver he wants to do the jet deal in an old heavy lake boat (just so he can say its a lake boat) Hell he wants to put the ski tow back on. What you gonna do he pays the bills. I'm having a blast !!
