    Just thought some might want to know;
    My crew just got parked at the Joliet track (I'm still at work) and things are a mess. Northern Illinois has gotten lots of rain in the last few weeks, with the latest downpour coming in the early hours this morning. All-Star cars are alright, and it appears in the non All-star ranks the alky cars are being parked first before they bring in any other sportsmen. I'm sure the pit control guys are just as tired of this wet spring as we all are.

    Enough paving for the Pro's, vendors, Pro-mods, and 2/3d's of the All-Stars.

    ...or enough for half the state of Illinois without the Pro's hospitality tents.

    Know what cracks me up? When Angelle won her first event ever at the grove (and I remember this because I got my second drag racing autograph ever from her the other being from Don Garlits in the back cover of his book.) She was pitted in the grass in a small tag along trailer alongside the cow pasture. Jump forward to 2005 and we're pulling into the pits at a flooded Gainesville and we tow past several acres of pristine asphalt pits reserved for the pro stock motorcycle semi trailers. YOU CAN FIT EVERY DAMN PSB on the premises in a single stacker!!!! And yes we had to get towed out of the mud by a tractor.

    I just got a call from my team and they say its pretty bad out there. They
    parked the truck and trailer on grass and have a ashpalt pit area for the car. My bus will be parked in the field and from what I hear its soft, I told them if thats the case drive it outside to the local Wal-Mart and I will drive back and forth.
    The NHRA guys are pulling there hair out trying to work things out.They always try to make everyone happy.

    That was a bad deal. We mounted a "no wake zone" sign outside of our pit

    you may be better off in the grass at joliet there is a heck of a low spot in the asphalt that gets very very wet when it rains, all the way up to your shins and all the way through the center of the paved pits
