Has anyone tried using down nozzles on a blown alcohol motor? If so, how did it run, and were there experiments with nozzle direction?

Enderle told me they tried it on a couple motors and they kept banging the blower. I know one guy who does it succesfully on a Big Chief headed Chevy.

Maybe this is a dumb question....... but why would down nozzles cause one to bang the blower, assuming an already workable "normal" tuneup moved a few inches down further into the port?

    Dave,
Ken Lowe tried down nozzels in Top Comp ? , way back when he was back over there in USA.
The problems were, the fuel rate , ( gal / min) may have been the same, as hat / port nozzels, but the fuel state was different. The down nozzels , 'tended' to be less vaporized , and was more in a liquid state. Another thing was , the ignitions back then were less powerfull too, so that problem today, may not apply. He can be contacted by email. ken@kenlowe.com.au

We are testing / trying down nozzels in my Mech Fuel Injected turbo engine, but have not progressed along enough to give real answers yet.

How far from the valve? We are at about 2.25" from the backside. Would like to hear more of your progress.

    hey mate:)
the nozzel is pointing at the area on the valve stem, where is starts to taper out, from the stem.
Basicly using the valve as a big plunger, and act like a washing machine to bust up the fuel droplets....
the nozzel is flush with the inside of the top of the runner , drilled from between the exhaust port and spark plug hole

will post some stuff of hre.com when i get round to finishing it.;)
