    IMPACT PRESS RELEASE - APRIL 20st 2010

Be advised that SFI has made the decision that as of April 27th, 2010 our products manufactured in 2008 and previous years are decertified. Impact strongly disagrees with this decision. SFI's decision does not apply to products purchased in 2009, 2010 and forward.

In light of the decertification, if any of our customers have to replace their products we can offer firesuits at a discounted price based on date of purchase, restraint systems at the trade-in price and free shipping.

    Bless thier hearts......:(

Im confused. easily. I thought the problem was phony tags for the 2009-2010 stuff. now sfi says anything bought 2008 and earlier is junked! wtf over. why not just ban it all, let somebody buy his equipment and start again. Fishing just started, it was peacefull ;)

Phony tags were determined to be on 08 and older pieces. Thats why 08 and older are decertifed.

Here is a good question for debate. There is no denying from SFI or Impact that SOME of the 08 and earlier tags are legit. Wouldn't that mean those items are 100% legitimate and therefore an owner of such product is denied the use of that product for its advertised (by Impact AND SFI) duration and therefore could be a reason for class action lawsuit against both entities?

Only the skirt on the helmet falls under SFI decertification

I don't think anything about the Impact situation is anything but serious. Anyone who bought product 08 and older is getting the royal ream from both parties IMO.

I think SFI should have taken a much different approach. I think in the SFI Patch deal of 08 and older should have made Impact recert EVERY single item sold with an SFI watchdog to supervise.

This whole deal with Impact is about much more then phoney tags.
    Read the latest SFI statement.

    http://www.sfifoundation.com/

SFI is cutting off Impact on June 22 2010 so anything you have bought can not be recertified after that date regardless...you're stuck...ouch.

I wonder what the "IMPACT" would have been if they would have cooperated with SFI, admitted screwing up and not tried to spin this deal (poorly btw) in their favor?

Sometimes an honest.... "I FUCKED UP" works miracles.

Simpson and Dennis Taylor stuff for me and my clients from here on out.
