I've never used the oil line feed tube. We've had the Pioneer drive for about 8 yrs.

Guess i should have posted more info:msd 20 mag,mag has groves cut so oil will get to gear freely, but it fills tube up at start up then starts pushing oil out of distributor gasket heavely..

sorry was gone for the day... cut the 'collars' on the mag shaft housing to allow the oil to flow down. i cut about a 1/4" 'notch' cut in each one on mine. and i think mine has about a 50 or 60 holley carb jet in it. i had the same issue when i first installed mine

    Mag drive

Ran my pioneer drive dry. put a plug in the housing. When I assem. it, I just used a really good high pressure lube. Unless you are driving it around, don't worry. I never had a problem. One less oil leak to worry about Don

I agree with Altered Boy. The problem could be that there is no where for that oil to go so it comes out around the gasket. It has to go somewhere so do as he says and notch the mag to let the oil flow down and out.

The installation instructions for the Pioneer say to cut a couple slots in those lugs and the mag base or candlestick.

I have the Summer Bros drive and a mallory drive with the dunn coupler to the 44

the Summers housing didn't come with a oil feed line / hole

should I insert one, cut the notch in the leg of the mallory to allow the oil to flow back to the gear? and then back into the timing cover.

I can't remenmber if the mallory leg has an oil hole between the two "O"rings to allow the shaft to oil.
