Have you experienced the ignition timing retarding at idle with your front mag drive?

    If so, what cured it?

    Archer Drive

if you noticed it with the pioneer drive you would also in the stock location, how "tight" do you shim your cam? How "solid" are your shims in front and behind the cam drive. Is there any spring to them? I run 5 of them with out a problem.

That's what we thought also so we kept tightening the end play until it was .001" and we don't have this retard at idle with our offset drives. We were wondering if we needed a oversized gear, MSD sells them but they couldn't tell me how to know which size I needed.

We've never run the external oiler, do you?

We were thinking of getting several more of Dave's drives but would like to eliminate this retard thing.

works fine in mine, all my engines except one have the oilier on the front drive. they are all set up with as close as i can get with .001-2 it cuts down on the spark scatter.
