Guys a great discussion over on Yellow Bullet about driveshaft speed, lets talk about what you guy see and do to compensate..

    Example
Initial Hit on tire I get a good spike in RPM then .025 out mine falls off big, and then slowly recovers, since I have nothing to compare this too, we thought we were doing good, based on what I have seen from others I think we may need a looser convertor, since if I stood on mine to raise the shaft speed, mine blows the tires off.

So after looking at all this, I feel that my convertor is maybe too tight and dragging the motor down after the tire plants.

    What do you guys think??

    info

are you pulling any timing out?

sound like it wants timing out at the hit then ramp it back in and step on it by the time you get to the point where driveshaft falls off.

You are thinking in the right direction. If it were a clutch car I'd say you'd have too much clutch and maybe a little too tall of a 1st gear if it's dragging the motor like that. I only say anything about the gearing because of wheelspeed, if you get a more loosened convertor with the same 1st gear and you don't get the wheel/driveshaft RPM, put a little shorter 1st gear in to pull your wheel speed up.

Thats why I think my convertor is too tight, when I throw the power to it, it will just blow the tires off, I pull 22 out on the hit now and throw it back over 2.5 seconds, I am having a new stator done, and we will test again in two weeks when I get it back together, Im freshening the motor right now. I went from 10.2:1 CR to 11.5:1 and changed the ring pack, and went from stainless to titanium valves..Should make a little difference.
