Have an Impact Nitro helmet, and am looking for either a anti fog lense, if there is such a thing, or ideas from others on what works for you. Have tried dishwashing liquid, anti fog sprays etc, not much seems to work other than racing during the day!
    Thanks.

Here, (way up North) we simply use "Pledge" when riding motorcycles, snownmobiles and race cars and it works very well on: lenses, windshields, etc...
    Take care,

We use some stuff from a scuba divers supply house, works great, lasts multiple events, and is cheap. Rain-X says not recommended for plastic right on the bottle, the AMSOIL version of Rain-X says good for plastic, but still not as good as the scuba divers stuff. :D

    dish soap

From what I hear, the anti fog shields work well till the anti fog starts to wear off. I'm guessing that's usually a night run, right around the finals.

I don't know how you applied your dish soap, but it worked great for me, but it's an every run type of deal.

I didn't take the shield off the helmet to save time. I would take a paper towel, tear it in half. I would put a small dab of dish soap on one and leave the other dry. I would then buff the soap into the shield on the outside and on the inside. Then buff it off with the clean towel until clear. If you do this before each evening/night run, I can almost guarantee you your visor won't fog.

Mike Pavia also told me Newberry's trick for the windows is to wax them with the same wax you would do the car with.

We'd have to use something different on Foster's car, because I'm not too sure WD-40 would be the hot ticket on the window...:D

man this comes up about 4 times every race season and i think we all deal with it if you're a driver. and honestly the 'cures' never cease to amaze me or make me laugh my ass off

    -wd-40
    -dish soap
-spit (yours or someone elses? geez that could lead to whole other conversations)
    -butter
    -monkey piss
    -rain-x
-lava soap (with pumice of course)
*some remedies may have been added purely for effect

dude... seriously buy a fog city visor insert and NEVER NEVER EVER have a fogged visor again... did i mention NEVER EVER??

good vibes is the only place i have consistently found them and they're about $20

i have no idea why impact/simpson/dj/bell/etc haven't latched onto this technology and integrated it into their helmet as a factory option??

you could were you helmet in the damn shower... IT WILL NOT FOG

you apply it ONE time and the visor it cured forever. and fyi the simpson bandit model will fit an impact nitro helmet perfectly

and NO i am not associated with FC or goodvibes in anyway... just think we all have to do everything we can to keep ourselves and other drivers as safe as possible

Thanks Altered Boy, exactly the info l was looking for. Wasn't sure whether l could substitute a fog shield designed for another visor. Have bought plenty of gear from Good Vibes, excellent to deal with.
    Thanks for all the replies.

    visor insert

They work great - no dispute. Seems like they have a one year life span (or there abouts) before they "haze" and need replacement. I've had to replace a couple of them in the past. Couldn't see a darn thing cause the insert went bad - just an FYI.

huh... never had a problem with mine at all and i have two helmets that have both had the inserts installed for 2-4 years. i just always make sure to use an alcohol based window cleaner on them NOT windex etc. most the glass cleaners have ammonia bases in them and it is terrible for plastics. sprayway makes an excellent alcohol based aerosol glass cleaner safe for tint, polycarb, lenses, etc
